SCOTT BRAUCHT | Director / Editor
Scott Braucht is a queer Oregon based filmmaker, all starting when he got his hands on a VHS camera at the age of eight. Since then he has trained, interned and received a Certificate with the NW Film Center while producing several shorts. His films have been seen in festivals around the U.S. including his film Mel & Kate which was an official selection of 2011 Newfest: NY’s Premier LGBT Film Festival. Scott has also volunteered with numerous film and art venues in the Portland area. When not working on his own projects, Scott usually collaborates with other filmmakers working as either art department or assistant editor on their films.
Scott has surrounded himself with a dedicated team of talented filmmakers and friends who not only believe in the importance of Vegas in Space but in the vision Scott has in how to tell this unique and entertaining story. He believes in having a majority queer and women identifying people on his sets to help catch his own biases as well as to fight for more representation behind the camera for historically under represented people.
